Miley Cyrus – you can do what you want at your party, but some hella smart women are gonna call you out for it, and you better listen! Hear how one feminist blogger went viral for calling Miley out on her racist appropriations in her VMA performance…and reminded white feminists to not forget black women in the struggle.

Catherine Young is a 23 year old Black West Indian feminist, blogger and photographer, currently living in Trinidad & Tobago. Her recent article, “Solidarity is for Miley Cyrus,” went viral with over 1 million views and hundreds of thousands of shares in just a few days. Why does Miley Cyrus even matter? Catherine joined us on Feminist Magazine at KPFK 90.7FM to talk about black women’s bodies, slut shaming and why pop culture does matter.

Listen below.
