7 Things First-Time Home Buyers Wish They Knew

Real Estate for Social Good

some tips from the internet. 🙂

You have to set financial limits yourself.

People ask me what to offer. I can give you the data on the market, but ultimately, you are the one who has to pay that mortgage for 30 years. So, with a good lender, you can run some scenarios of payments based on current interest rates, and come up with a number that works for you. When you get comfortable with you limits, I can advocate for you with the listing agent and work to get that number accepted.

You have to be prepared to move fast.

There’s a lot that happens in a transaction, and so when it starts, it feels like a whirlwind. I walk you through all that. But remember…it took you a LONG time to get to where you’re at – financially & emotionally. It was a journey to say “okay, it’s time to start.” So though it might all seem fast now, remember that you have been preparing for this. Now all that stands in the way is taking action when the opportunity presents itself.

You have to listen to your opinion above all others.

“Most of the time, family and friends have kind intentions, but once you sign on the dotted line for your mortgage, that’s it. It’s yours-and your responsibility.” Ground in what you want and what you know. I work with family members all the time, but at the end of the day I want to hear what YOU want before we make a move.

You can’t put a price on a great realtor.

I follow your lead. People are surprised that we find something so fast when they’re expecting it to take a year — but if YOU are ready, then I am READY to hunt, negotiate and project manage for you out in the market. It’s not a matter of IF you’ll find it, it’s WHEN. I’m just here to make it happen when you say go.
