Well, California Dream for All lends first time homebuyers the down payment money at 0% interest with NO monthly payments. It’s a “shared appreciation” loan.
And yes it’s true – all the funds were allocated in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS! Obviously, this is very disappointing, and frustrating!
But guess what? We’ve been getting folks into houses creatively for years before this program came out!
So, even though 20% down was very attractive, there are a dozen other down payment assistance programs we use regularly …and they are still active!
The Dream for All program is expected to roll out again when funds become available – and only people who already got preapproved with a lender will realistically have a chance to access the money.
So don’t be discouraged – if this got you thinking that it’s possible for you, then it is never too late to reach out!
